I am just not having any luck these days...

I finally get around to reading through Knightfall, and it was pretty good. Not great, just pretty good, but of course I want to keep going - after all, Prodigal brings up the tail end of this saga, and we all know who takes up the mantle in THAT storyline. I'd gotten Knightquest back when I found Knightfall... but I never checked it... AND IT'S IN SPANISH!! >_<###### Seriously???? GAH! I'm REALLY hoping I don't have to find this one piece by piece because I don't know if I can... at least I've got the Robin chapters. :P

And to make matters worse, bad news in the world of football... for me, anyway. Rothlisberger is out against Baltimore on Sunday. But not only that, Batch is out for 2-6 weeks, meaning Dixon has to go in. And I've heard no word on Polamalu. ;___; Now, I am upset that Ben got a concussion last Sunday, but I'm not upset that they are choosing to sit him because of it - the player's health comes first, and this should be taken seriously. I am also upset that we don't have our reliable back up to rely on, and I wish him a quick recovery. I am upset that all this comes against Baltimore. I am NOT upset that we've got Dixon as our third stringer. Obviously he hasn't played much in the pros, but I still remember that amazing college game I saw him play, and with a great set of guys on offence to help him out, I have confidence that he'll do all right. I really, really, wish the guy the best, and not just because he's got big shoes to fill this week in a really important game, though that's certainly part of it. :P This will be some "Welcome to the NFL" game...

::sigh::

Why can't I find this in English???? T_____T Well, I resorted to translating the Spanish version. It's kind of fun, I admit, though extremely slow. It's easier to get a kick out of the dialogue when you're really thinking about every word. "¿Qué demonios pasa contigo?" "Hmm, it's something about 'what' and 'with you', but what's 'demonios'. Demons? Yup, demons. So... uh, huh? OH!! Demons, or hell! 'What the hell is wrong with you?'! XD" I got bits and pieces of the following Nightwing rant before needing the translators help, but I got a kick out of it all pieced together:

a few translated scenes )

Ok, so I guess Bruce can have a hug too. Man, I just love the disfunctionalness of the Bat Family...

So, after my lucky break just the other day, today I come up empty handed.

my Nightwing fangirl is showing )

...and indeed, the download is NOT what I wanted. ::sigh:: Maybe I'll find it tomorrow... ;___;

EDIT: So NOW I find it, and it's in SPANISH! D:< Well, at least I can make out some of it... and I could always type out everything into an online translator... ugh...

I FINALLY FOUND IT!!! )

YEARS, I tell ya, YEARS!! I don't remember where I first saw this picture - some video on YouTube showed it for a split second, but it was SO SMALL ;___________; - but ever since I've wanted to know where it came from. Now I know. And it's even more adorable than it was the first time I saw it because this time I can actually, ya know, SEE IT.

::sigh:: I really wish they'd get a writer who can write this couple WELL, because when done well, I just love them to death...

And I've actually been feeling the itch to go back to early Batman stories, like where Dick is still in the "short pants", lol. I've found out about several that have been quite good, actually, and frankly Dick looks better back then than a lot of stuff that came after it (seriously, the guy was such a cutie, my gosh...). ::sigh:: So much to read, so little time...

Oh, and while I'm here - Karen AND Victor gone in the same night... I'm pissed. >:( Karen I could at least understand, but DUDE, Vistor over Nathan????? What on earth were Mary and Adam THINKING????????? At least Nigel admitted that he was upset about it too... But come ON, since when does the show keep STAGNANT dancers over GROWING ones??? >_<#################### Grrrr...

::sigh::

I'm depressed. Like, not for silly "Why did they make Nightwing suck?" reasons, real reasons. I have no intention of getting into those here, though. It's just that when I get depressed I don't feel like doing anything, even things I like. I kinda want to go back to reading the back issues of Batman or Teen Titans, or even catching up on this week's manga, but yet I don't. Because that would be doing something. So I've decided to just rant about whatever comes to mind here because while technically it IS doing something, it's also getting out a lot of stuff that's been stewing in my head since I started my comic book kick (because, yeah, it'll probably all be Batman related). With my job, I have a lot of time to just let things stew, and sometimes ya just gotta get it out somewhere or else you start going in circles.

In the year 3000... )

Ok. I think I'm done for now. There have been other things running around in my head, but that was the most recent considering I'd just read some forum posts about it. And now I'm all ranted out.

::sigh::

Alright. I finally made it. It was REALLY tough in spots, but I made it.

I finished Nightwing.

So yeah, it ended on a good note, thank goodness. That was one heck of a roller coaster of a series, but the end was enjoyable, so that's nice. But seeing all his interactions with non-Bat related people makes me really want to read Titans... ugh... Why did it have to start in the 60s? ;___; I hope it gets less cheesy soon... I read the Teen Titans Year One special thing and loved it! Well, I really liked it, love might be a bit strong. I LOVED the artwork - it fit perfectly with the story and was so unique and, uh, cool, and... a bunch of other amazing adjectives I can't think of. I wonder if that got collected as a novel and if there's any more like it out there... Anyway, I WANT to get into Titans stuff, but I know it'll be hard wading through the early stuff...

::sigh::

Oh, and on another not so happy note, both my football teams lost, Gary and Matt got eliminated from The Amazing Race, and it's not looking so good for some of the ones I like on SYTYCD... ;___; But on the upside, Fringe looks to be quite good this week! lol

...man, I love this song.

::ahem::

So, some good news first!  I was really worried about Gary and Matt when they fell behind all the other teams left on The Amazing Race.  They are my favorite team this season, though I do like the Globetrotters.  And with the Poker girls out last week... I didn't want to be down to one team to root for. T___T  Of course, then they had the hay Road Block, which left the opportunity to catch up!  ...but sadly, luck was just not on their side.  They were the last team out there - for another 2 hours! - but good ol' Gary kept at it, and they proudly and wearily walked to the mat, hoping for a miracle.  And they got one - non-elimination round! ^______^  Ok, so yeah they're way behind and they've got a Speed Bump (with candelabras - oh, poor Matt ^_^;;), but they're still in it!  At least they're around another round.  I still really, REALLY want the Zebra team to leave... >_>  But I'll continue rooting for the father/son team.  They keep their cool, work together, and I always liked that they wanted to do the race together to get to know each other better.

In other good news, STEELERS WON! ^___^  Beat the Broncos, a worthy opponant that we wiped the floor with in the second half, lol.  Of course, as always, we had one good half and one not so good half.  I always feel better when we start off slow because that means we'll end strong.  Starting strong?  I worry for the second half. ^_^;;  But we won, so yeah!  Big game against the Bengals next week!  I could tell from week one (when they played the Broncos and lost on a (un)lucky play) that they were a better team this year than last, and ha!  Glad to know I was right, now we just have to offer up a little payback for our last meet up. ^_~

No time for the bad, but it has to do with my comic book kick... onto that later. :P

Wonder Girl: Hey, you three - does a girl have to frug with her own magic lasso?

...I had no idea what "frug" meant, though it sounded kind of dirty, lol.  Thankfully, Aqualad was there to clear things up!

Aqualad: Who wants to dance when you can read a keen story like this?

Dancing, of course.  But over a keen story?  No thanks.

Robin: I hate to interrupt you characters...
Wonder Girl: Oh, Robin, you're such a killjoy!  But I forgive you - because you're so cute!

Yeah, you tell that cute killjoy, you character.

Robin: (reading a "help" letter) 'Dear Teen Titans... My collection of rock-an-roll records got warped!  Could Wonder Girl flatten them with her Amazon strength?'
Response:

Couldn't have said it better myself.  And a few more random ones:

Girl: No, Garn... You're strictly from Squaresville if you don't put down the drags - like you're cubed but def!  (What the crap does that even mean??? o_o  At least Garn didn't understand it either...)

Wonder Girl: Suffering Sappho, natch! (HAHAHAHAHA!!!  What the crap???? XD!!!!!!!)

Robin: Quick like a bunny, Kid Flash! (I just love that he uses this several times.)
(Later) Aqualad: Quick like a bunnyfish...

Girl: All the kids see now what drips they've been!  When you defended them from the giant, they realized you swung their style!

And that's all from ONE chapter.  And there could have been more, but I got lazy. :P

Oh, the cheesiness of it all!  So I tried to start Teen Titans.  I noticed it dated back to the 60s, so I was doubtful I'd like it, but that's where the TT story starts, so that's where I wanted to start.  Ugh, it's so unbelievably corny... I can't stand it!  Some things make me laugh (like how the have stupid catchphrases like "Sufferin' sunfish!" or something, or how the narrator just, well, narrates ^_^;;), but most of it is just painful.  It's nice to see Robin as the leader, even being called "Big Brain" by Kid Flash, but it's juts so... ugh.  I don't know, I may have to skip ahead. :P  I'll attempt skimming first, but if there's no end to the extreme cheese in sight, I might move on to New Titans from the 80s with the team I'm most familiar with.

Baby Hush Hush! )

And lastly I also read a Birds of Prey issue featuring Nightwing and Oracle before they dated for real.  No time for specifics, but it was ADORABLE!!  No words can describe just how amazingly cute it was, lol.  ...I miss them as a flirty pair. ;___;

Ok, enough!  Bedtime!  Work at 5am tomorrow... yuck... -_-

All done. Just rewatched all the Teen Titans episodes. ...and now I seriously want to read the comics, even though I heard Dick... lives up to his name in the end... and I don't mean Nightwing. >_> ::sigh:: Anyway, back to the cartoon!

Season 5 )

So yeah... there's my ranting about season 5. I feel I ragged on TT more than I praised it, lol. Should have posted back when I watched my favorites - then I would have been all "XD" and "X3" and "<3" and of course "^_______^", lol. Oh well...

Bedtime!
